Lowcountry Cuisine Spring 2018
lowcountry cuisine LC 46 www.LowcountryCuisineMag.com | www.CharlestonRecipes.com A nyone who knows me knows I have a deep affinity for food. If we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting, check out my Editor’s Note in this issue to get up to speed. There’s something borderline magical in the way food can bring people together, and the restaurants in Charleston are certainly doing their part to entertain, feed and dazzle regulars and tourists alike on a daily basis. From someone who started buttering garlic bread in an Italian joint as a kid, I’ve worked almost every position, and I promise our end goal is to always deliver delicious food with a smile – even on the hard days. For those of you who have never braved the front or back of a restaurant, let me tell you, it’s no walk in the park. From dishwashers to chefs and hostesses to servers, there are many moving parts to making your dining experience memorable. I’d like to say that the feedback is always an overwhelming amount of gratitude from patrons, but, alas, that’s not always the case. We believe at Lowcountry Cuisine that great work, passion and dedication should be rewarded and praised. This is exactly the point of the Golden Spoon Awards, which will be announced in our July/August issue – to highlight and thank your preferred places to dine or sip in Charleston. While the categories vary – ambience of the restaurant; quality of service; quality of cuisine; selection of beers, wines and cocktails; and overall restaurant value – the intent is all the same: to share your favorite spots throughout the Lowcountry with fellow readers. The more spoons, the better the experience, so use your voice to vote away. We can’t wait to hear from you and check out some of your must-visit eateries.
