It’s pretty easy for us here at Lowcountry Cuisine to sit back and name some of our favorite stops around town. After all, it’s our job, to an extent, to stop in for delicious meals throughout Charleston so we can continue to bring you all of the exciting events, delicious plates and unbeatable cocktails you need to try. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it. Right?

Still, as much as we love digging into the daily specials ourselves, it’s the time of year when we ask YOU, our readers, for your top-pick venues – and, just like in previous years, you did not disappoint. Congratulations to all of the Golden Spoon winners for 2018. While some are quickly becoming local legends, others are slowly but surely making a name for themselves. It all goes back to the dining experiences we, as patrons, walk away with!

Grace & Grit

“Grace & Grit is a game-changer. They have elevated brunch favorites and created a reasonably priced menu with the palate of a fine-dining restaurant. Just when you thought grits couldn’t be anything beyond milk, water and cheese, Grace & Grit proves us all wrong. And just like they don’t serve average savory and sweet grits, they wouldn’t dare serve average bacon. Their thick-sliced bacon will make you a die-hard fan of this outstanding establishment!”

From the time she arrived, we had to go after Mass to their brunch on the deck they had enclosed. When you have the best local food prepared to enhance the ingredients and a staff that makes you feel so welcomed, you have to give thanks it exists on our island!!”
